Tips for Writing
Being in my second year of college, there is many day-to-day challenges that I face.
One is the importance of maintaining grades and keeping up-to-date with all that is due. When it comes to writing papers and editing I struggle with finding errors. I have a few tips that I have learned over the two years that can help you improve your work not only at school but any work you need to write.
1. Sleep on it.
Sleeping on it can often help the situation. I find that when I sleep on my work I am more likely going to catch errors.
2. Call a friend.
Have a friend read and edit your work. Then once you have edited your first draft have them read it to you. Hearing your work out loud can improve your chances of finding an error.
3. Use Grammarly.
I wish I had discovered this tool sooner. It is great at finding errors in the free version and the paid version takes your work one step further. It has so many features that help improve your work.
4. Use Google Translate
Once again, hearing your work out loud can help you catch your errors.
5. Print it out.
Printing it out and reading it line by line is not the shortest of processes but it can help to find errors.
